The Global Change Research Institute CAS in Brno, Czech Republic has two new positions with the focus on analysis of eddy covariance data.

The research fellow and postdoctoral research fellow positions are available from summer 2016 with the main tasks to analyze and interpret data from eddy-covariance measurement in different sites as well as to publish the results.

A successful candidates will work with the data from the network of Czech Ecosystem Stations with history of measurement: 3-10 years, i.e. eddy-covariance and meteorological data from the towers, inventarization data, chamber measurements and remote sensing data. They will evaluate the data within one site or perform inter-site comparison, possibly also using the data from FLUXNET database.

The requirements for the research fellow position are: MSc degree in biological; environmental or atmospheric sciences; previous experience with eddy covariance; knowledge of statistical analysis;  capability to write papers; good written/spoken English communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team of scientists.

The requirements for the postdoctoral position are: PhD degree in biological; environmental or atmospheric sciences; theoretical and practical knowledge of atmospheric processes, ecology/ecophysiology and the fluxes within the soil-plant-atmosphere system; practice with R software (preferred) or Matlab and knowledge of statistical analysis; capability of independent scientific work including publishing papers in impact factor journals; good written/spoken English communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team of scientists, ability to lead people.
