ICOS RI (Integrated Carbon Observation System Research Infrastructure) is a distributed Research Infrastructure providing data on atmospheric concentrations, emissions and sinks of greenhouse gases, biogeochemical cycles in terrestrial ecosystems, oceans and atmosphere and related research (http://www.icos-ri.eu/). ICOS RI is coordinated by a European Research Infrastructure Consortium (ICOS ERIC) with statutory seat in Finland. RINGO, 'Readiness of ICOS for Necessities of Integrated Global Observations' is a 4-year H2020 project, started in January 2017 and coordinated by ICOS ERIC. RINGO has 43 partners in 19 countries and has a specific emphasis on the further development of the readiness of ICOS RI to foster its sustainability.
GEO Carbon and GHG Initiative (GEO-C) is an initiative within the framework of GEO (Group on Earth Observations) to promote interoperability and provide integration across different parts of the Earth system, particularly at domain interfaces. The initiative is part of GEO Work Programme 2017-2019 and coordinated by ICOS ERIC together with the CMCC (Euro-Mediterranean Center on Climate Change).
